I’m from a small town in Kansas called Tonganoxie. There’s not much to see in Tonganoxie, but its where my creative journey began. Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by the idea of how things work and how they came to be. As a kid, if I wasn’t trying to modify a Nerf toy or make an R/C car faster, I was probably researching how to do so. In high school I filled my elective schedule with as many creative courses as I could, and in my time off during the summer you could count on me having several hobby projects going at once.
I started college at The University of Kansas in 2015, and I knew it was time to turn my passion in to a career. I began my college experience as a Mechanical Engineering student. While traversing engineering school, I found that I was more compelled to aesthetics, user experience, and simply making products better. In 2017 I decided that Industrial Design would be a better fit for my passion, and I was correct. Engineering school gave me a head start on technical and mechanical knowledge that still benefits me to this day. Since I started design school, I’ve had great success both in and out of school by networking and learning from like-minded creative driven designers, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. As I approach the conclusion of my college experience, I’ve never been more excited to pursue this creative journey that I started in little Tonganoxie, Kansas.
